    What to Bring

    Each participant will require their own safety equipment. Please bring green patch work boots, a hard hat and safety glasses for the practical portion of the training.

    There will be two 15-min breaks and one 60-min lunch. Coffee will be provided in the morning. You are welcome to bring your own beverages and lunch, or go offsite to purchase a meal during the lunch break.

    About The Working at Heights Course

    Elevation Aerial Design and Consulting offers a Working at Heights training program in partnership with the Infrastructure Health & Safety Association (IHSA) that meets the requirements of of the CPO. Training can be provided on site at your location or at one of our training facilities, offered in both a private (group) and public training format and can be scheduled according to your specific needs.

    This comprehensive Working at Heights training program consists of a combination of classroom and skills-based learning activities. Participants receive the most up-to-date information with hands-on instruction from our professional instructors who are all experienced in working at heights.

    Part One: Basic Theory

    • Rights and Responsibilities
    • Identification of Hazards, Eliminating or Controlling those Hazards
    • Ladders and Similar Equipment
    • Warning Methods and Physical Barriers
    • Intro to Personal Fall Protection Equipment

    Part Two: Practical Equipment

    • Barriers and Other Fixed Equipment
    • Personal Fall Protection Equipment
    • Anchor Points, Work Access Equipment, and Platforms
    • Rescue Planning

    Who the Working at Heights Training is For

    The CPO training requirement for Working at Heights is for workers on construction projects who use any of the following methods of fall protection:

    • Travel restraint system
    • Fall restricting systems
    • Fall arrest systems
    • Safety nets, and
    • Work belts or safety belts.

    The IHSA approved training program provides these workers with the basic fall prevention information they require to work safely in areas where they may be exposed to fall hazards.

    Please arrive on time for the course. The Ministry of Labour dictates that the instructor cannot admit participants who arrive more than 15 minutes late for the course.
